ARTIST STATEMENT

"The thing that's always stuck out to me about Lupin is that big, confident grin of his. That smile is so central to his character, a mainstay of his entire personality. So I knew I wanted him front and center, gazing out at us with that signature smirk. And beyond that, I wanted to showcase in my piece the most important thing to Lupin's success as a franchise: the group dynamic. Specifically, the little moments that inform that dynamic

I wanted to try and get across the personalities of the characters and how those bounce off each other in endearing ways. I love little scenes of Jigen and Fujiko bickering during episodes. I love seeing Goemon standing there, maintaining his focused calm as if he isn't close friends with these hooligans. Each character has such a simple, strong personality and it hits every time. I hope I was able to show a little of that here."
